Nine free Excel templates covering the full project controls cycle: programme, earned value, cost forecasting, changes and reporting. Built by quantity surveyors and planners, no email wall.
Project controls is the set of disciplines that keep a construction project's cost, time and scope aligned to a baseline throughout delivery, covering programme monitoring, cost and earned value reporting, change management and progress reporting so deviations are caught while they are still recoverable.
The forecasting and reporting layer, from the short interval programme through to the board pack. Every one is a direct .xlsx download.

| Lookahead planner | Two, four and six week activities, constraints, predecessors | Site delivery planning meetings |
| RFI and TQ register | Reference, description, date raised, response due, programme impact | Design query tracking |
| Variation tracker | Reference, description, value, status, approval date | Instructed change and variation control |

| Project dashboard | Programme status, cost status, top risks, key actions | Weekly project team meeting |
Most of these templates fail the same way once a project gets busy: the S-curve is only as current as the last time someone updated it by hand, the CE log only shows events someone remembered to notify, and none of them talk to each other, so the dashboard is a manual roll up built from five other spreadsheets the night before the meeting.
That's not a template problem. It's a records problem. Every one of these trackers is downstream of the same site data: diaries, allocations, instructions and correspondence. If that data is captured consistently, the templates populate themselves. If it isn't, no amount of formula work fixes the gap.
Gather's AI QS reads your site diaries and correspondence as they land, keeping progress, cost and commercial position aligned to programme without a manual roll up.
See how Gather automates project controls A 30 minute call. No commitment. Bring one of your live projects.Start with the S-curve and progress report if you need client-facing reporting, or the EVM calculator and cost to complete forecast if your priority is cost control. The lookahead planner and RFI register sit underneath both.
The commercial mechanics differ. NEC4 projects track instructed changes through compensation events, so the CE log is the primary register. JCT projects track variations directly, so the variation tracker does the equivalent job. Both are included in this pack.
They work well for a single project or a small portfolio that one person keeps up to date. They struggle once several people update different sheets, which is when most teams start looking at software that reads the same underlying records automatically.
Gather reads your site records as they come in and keeps programme, cost and commercial position aligned automatically.
