Discover five effective ways to integrate Raildiary within your Common Data Environment. Improve data accuracy, streamline communication, and enhance

We’re often asked how Gather integrates with CDE’s and how the site data we capture may be added to asset information as part of a wider BIM strategy.

Gather is focused on the commercial function and providing a best practice tool to ensure site data is accurately captured in real time to measure and record progress, productivity and resource allocation. Historically this information is utilised only during the construction phase of a project and in isolation for the commercial team on a project or programme of work.

We are passionate about ensuring the data is consistent and structured so it has a wider benefit and application for long term learning and enhancing asset information.

We’ve collated the top 5 tips for using Gather effectively within your CDE and alongside your BIM strategy -

1.Single sign on

Simple but effective, Gather supports single sign on deployment to provide an immediate, seamless user experience alongside existing tools and platforms within a Common Data Environment.

Our preferred technology is Auth0 however other SSO solutions are available depending on your suite of applications.

2.Pre-populate shift information

Our Shift Planner tool allows for programme and planning information to be pre-populated by shift within the Gather platform. This information may be extracted directly from planning tools such as Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or Excel tracking tools.

With over 60% of the information completed before work starts recording actuals and gaining high quality shift data is simple to achieve.

3.Aligning data sets

The key to gaining immediate and long term value from site data is structuring its collection and analysis in a format aligned to commercial reporting requirements (e.g. an Activity Schedule or BOQ) along with any Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) which allows for linking to both the programme and digital asset models.

Project set up in Gather includes for configuration of labour, plant, material and work activity structure within relational fields which may be aligned directly to both commercial and work breakdown reporting structures.

4.Secure report links

All shift records in Gather allow for a secure link to be added to contract management or document management systems where the relevant site data is valuable to the wider team within a CDE.

This is widely used to support the sharing of information for commercial management and cost verification on modern cost reimbursable contracts.

5.Power BI structured data sets and visualisations

We have a range of clients and users requiring analytics and visualisations in different formats for multiple reporting functions.

The Gather platform provides for simple shift reporting along with more complex combined reports in various export formats and through secure shared links.

Our suite of PowerBI dashboards gives users guided analytics and enterprise clients may access structured data securely extracted into their own data models to generate visualisations in multiple platforms combined with data sets across their Common Data Environment.

Gather

is a best in class solution for capturing site data for reporting and analytics and we appreciate that this doesn’t happen in an information vacuum.

By harnessing data consistently, linking it to commercial, project and business wide structures the Gather platform allows clients to extract and exploit as little or as much of this information to support their wider data strategies for real time and long term benefit.
